Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis is the head house of the scholar Yu Seung-hyeon (1680–1746), who was active from the reign of King Sukjong into that of King Yeongjo of Joseon, and Chimganjeong Pavilion served as a place for giving lectures. Yu Seung-hyeon passed the civil service examination in the forty-fifth year of King Sukjong's reign, and after the Rebellion of Yi In-jwa he held a succession of posts, serving among others as third counsellor of the Board of Works and as magistrate of Punggi. The present buildings were originally built in the thirty-sixth year of King Sukjong (1710) and were moved to their current site in 1987 because of the construction of the Imha Dam.
