Yun Clan Old House in Palsim-ri, Hapcheon
KOGL Type 1Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

Built in 1895, the thirty-second year of King Gojong's reign, this house is made up mainly of a main hall, a detached men's quarters, a servants' quarters and a gate quarters. The main hall is six bays across the front and two bays deep, with a hip-and-gable roof whose side profile resembles the shape of the Chinese character for 'eight' (八). The men's quarters, seven bays across the front and two bays deep, also has a hip-and-gable roof and stands in a row alongside the main hall. The wooden floor running from the centre toward the right is finished beautifully with a surrounding balustrade. The several buildings are well preserved in their original form, making this house good material for studying traditional folk houses of the late Joseon period.
