This is a late-Joseon hanok made up mainly of a main hall, a detached men's quarters and a servants' quarters. The main hall and the men's quarters are connected by a central wooden-floored hall, giving the house an unusual floor plan. The main hall and the men's quarters stand on the east side of the courtyard; the servants' quarters is said to have originally stood to the west of the main hall, but the building there today was newly built to the north. The main hall has a two-bay central hall in the middle, with men's quarters on either side: a larger men's quarters of three bays to the east, and a smaller one of two bays to the west. A kitchen is attached to the outer side of the men's quarters room, and, across the railed veranda of the men's quarters and the narrow veranda of the central hall, there is a side room. The servants' quarters is ten bays across the front and one bay deep, made up of a kitchen, a central hall, a pantry floor, and a side room. The yellow-grey walls illustrate the old style well, and overall the house provides excellent material for understanding the life of the sadaebu, the scholar-official class, in the late Joseon period.
