The Kim Dong-jin House, located in Gaguri, Gobuk-myeon, comprises the main quarters (anchae), the men's quarters (sarangchae), a middle-gate wing (jungmunchae), an outer-gate wing (daemunchae), a 21-kan (bay) traditional timber storehouse, and a concrete-block storehouse, all enclosed by an earthen wall around the entire site. Passing through the L-shaped outer-gate wing, the sarangchae stands set to the left, with the anchae situated behind it. The jungmunchae adjoins the sarangchae on its left side and can be entered through a single-bay gateway. Outside the jungmunchae there is a side gate connected to the wall, along with the storehouse wing. The original building is said to have had a U-shaped plan in which the anchae and sarangchae were joined together. The anchae is said to have been reduced in size in 1972, and the storeroom that was once attached to the jungmunchae has been lost.
