This traditional Korean house (hanok) stands at the foot of Yeongchwisan Mountain, north of Hangae Village, and the view of the house as seen looking down from the gate is striking. It was built in 1911 by Yi Jeon-hui; the family shrine and the detached annex were extended in 1930. The house is said to have been named after the fact that Yi Jeon-hui's wife had married in from Wolgok-dong, Chojeon-myeon. The buildings comprise the gate quarters, the women's quarters (anchae), the men's quarters (sarangchae), the inner gate quarters, the storehouse quarters and a shrine. The main hall has a straight, '一'-shaped layout, while the lower quarters, storehouse quarters and inner gate quarters are arranged in an open square ('ㅁ'-shaped) plan. The gate quarters face south, and the spatial organisation of the women's quarters is regular and finely composed. The sarangchae, which occupies the largest plot, has, unlike the women's quarters, a spatial arrangement in which the lines of the walls and buildings depart from a strict grid. Each building is arranged independently, yet all are composed so that every activity centres on the inner courtyard. This follows a layout method peculiar to this village, and offers a good point of comparison with the other houses nearby. It is a Joseon-period noble house that provides valuable material for studying the lifestyle, architectural history and folk customs of its time.
