This is the head house (jongtaek) of the Musil branch of the Jeonju Yu clan. It originally stood in Sugok-dong, Imdong-myeon, but was relocated to its present site in 1988 because of the construction of Imha Dam. The Jeonju Yu clan traces its founding ancestor to Yu Seup, Lord of Wansan, in the late Goryeo period, and built its scholarly foundation within the Toegye school of learning (the school founded by the scholar Yi Hwang, pen name Toegye). Yu Yun-seon set up a branch household away from Hanyang and settled in Yeongju; his son Yu Seong then moved and settled at this very site. Afterwards the descendants flourished and produced many men of talent, so that the clan became one of the most notable in the Yeongnam region and came to be known as the Musil Yu. It is a wooden tiled house of seven bays across the front and six bays deep, with a seven-bay haengnangchae (servants' quarters) at the front; the women's quarters (anchae) form a square ('ㅁ'-shaped) plan. To the west of the anchae is attached a sarangchae (men's quarters) with a three-bay daecheong and a gyeopjip (double-depth wing), and a shrine stands to the rear.
