This is the head house of the Nampyeong Mun clan, built around 300 years ago, and it shows the typical floor plan of the Andong region. The building standing today originally stood in Maryeong-dong, Imdong-myeon, and was moved to its present site in 1988 during the construction of Imha Dam. It has three bays across the front and two bays on the side; at the centre front is a bongdang, a space left with its earthen floor bare, with a wooden floor (maru) set behind it. To the left of the maru is the main room, and to the right the upper room. To the left of the bongdang is the kitchen, and to the right a cattle shed with a loft above it. Only the heated ondol rooms have earthen walls; the rest are finished in wooden boards. The roof is covered with tiles and fitted with openings called kkachigumeong, or "magpie holes", which let the smoke from inside the house escape. The building is valued as a rare tile-roofed example that retains the original form of a kkachigumeong ("magpie-hole") house.
