This is the birth house of Kim Mong-no (1828–1884), the eighth-generation descendant of Chwijukdang Kim Eung-myeong. The site is arranged in two tiers, separating the men's quarters (sarangchae) from the main hall (anchae). The anchae is entered through a middle gate attached to the sarangchae, and a family shrine was built behind it. The sarangchae is arranged with a middle gate and a storeroom on either side; in the heated room (ondol) on the left stands an old-style central door-post (jungganseoljingju), while the ondol room on the right is fitted with a four-panel hinged door for added formality. Owing to the distinctive layout of its sarangchae, this building is valued as an important source for the study of traditional Korean (hanok) architecture.
