The house was built by Gwon Jin (1568–1620), a chambong (a minor government official of the lowest rank), who was the grandson of Gwon Ui and the tenth-generation descendant of Gwon Su-hong, founder of the Bogyagong branch of the Andong Gwon clan. The house takes its name from Gwon Jin's pen name. Its plan consists of a quadrangular anchae (main quarters) with a five-kan front and seven-kan side, together with a shrine of three kan by two kan. The building represents the typical form of a middle- to upper-class folk house of this region during the Joseon period.
