This house was originally built in Junam-ri by Yi Do, pen-named Jugok (1636–1712), a Confucian scholar of the mid-Joseon period, and was moved and rebuilt at this site by his descendants in 1830, the thirtieth year of King Sunjo. It has a square, courtyard-centred layout. Notable features include the variously fitted built-in cupboards installed for the convenience of the sarangbang, the men's reception room, and, beneath the cupboard of the gamsilbang, a room housing a shrine cabinet for ancestral tablets, a wooden ancestral-rite table that can be pulled down for use. The house also retains a mudumeong, a large jar used in the kitchen to draw and store water, a rare surviving trace of old everyday life and culture. It is important material as a typical dwelling of the northern Gyeongsangbuk-do region.
