This old house, standing in the lower village of Sudo-ri, is thought to have been built in the 18th century. It is said to have been built originally by the Bannam Bak clan and purchased by the sixth-generation ancestor of the present owner, remaining in the family down to today. It consists of a square (ㅁ-shaped) main hall, jeongchim, and a mill house. Centred on the middle gate, there is a stable to the right and a straight-line (一-shaped) men's quarters, sarangchae, to the left. The sarangchae consists of a one-bay wooden-floored hall, sarangmaru, and a two-bay men's room, sarangbang, with a half-bay-wide veranda, toenmaru, at the front. A railing was placed around the veranda to give the sarangchae a more formal appearance. Behind the sarangmaru is a jungbang, a connecting middle room, fitted with hinged doors on both the hall side and the inner-courtyard side to allow passage. The women's quarters, anchae, wrap around the inner courtyard in a ㄷ-shape centred on the daecheong, the main wooden-floored hall. To the left of the daecheong are a geonneonbang (a room across the hall) and a small kitchen and storage room (gwang), the gwang being connected to the jungbang. To the right of the daecheong, the main bedroom (anbang), kitchen and storage room are connected to the stable. On the right-hand side of the anchae stands the mill house. Although the exterior has changed slightly due to later repairs, the various facilities inside retain their original form relatively well, making this a valuable old house.
