Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis building was used to store funeral biers and other equipment used in funerals, and is also called a gotjip. Said to have been built in the early 19th century, it is one of only a few surviving sangyeojip (funeral bier houses) across the country and was constructed in a very plain and simple manner. The lower part of the walls is solidly built up with stone and earth, while the upper part is made of wooden boards, allowing for ventilation and light. The building is maintained jointly by the village and provides valuable material for the study of funeral bier houses.
