In the late Joseon period, Park Jae-so (1840–1873), son of Ungang Park Si-muk, built this house when he set up a separate household. It stands to the southwest of Ungang Historic House, the main family seat, and together with the houses of his brothers nearby it forms a small village cluster. The sarangchae (men's quarters) and daemunchae (gate quarters) were demolished during road-widening work in 1990, so only the anchae (women's quarters), jungmunchae (middle gate quarters) and dojangchae (storage quarters) survive today. The anchae has an L-shaped (ㄱ-shaped) plan, while the jungmunchae and dojangchae are each a single straight (ㅡ-shaped) row. Access to the anchae required going around the building, reflecting the strict separation of men's and women's spaces typical of a yangban (scholar-official) household.
