Manjeongheon is a pavilion of the Gyeongju Kim clan, built about 500 years ago when Kim Ja-gan, who had served as county magistrate (hyeongam), moved from Gyeongju and settled in Myeongchon-ri, Ulsan. The present building was rebuilt about 200 years ago, when the heated ondol room, originally one kan, was enlarged to two kan. It measures three kan across the front, while the sides are three kan on the left and two kan on the right. The roof is a hipped-and-gabled roof shaped like the Chinese character 八 when viewed from the side. A plaque reading "Myeongheon" hangs at the front, and a distinctive feature is the use of bush clover wood for the round columns. With a tradition of about 500 years, Manjeongheon is the oldest architectural heritage in Ulsan, and the gracefully upswept curve of its roof eaves well expresses the beauty of Korean architecture.
