This is where King Jeongjo of Joseon (r. 1776–1800) would stop to rest while travelling to pay his respects at the tomb of his father, Crown Prince Sado; it stands together with Yogeunji Pond (浴恩池). Yogeunji was originally located elsewhere, but it is said to have been moved to this site during repairs carried out in 1887, the 24th year of Emperor Gojong. King Jeongjo enjoyed archery and had his officials shoot as well; it is said that he shot arrows at Eosadae and washed his hands afterwards in Yogeunji Pond.
