Seonbyeongu Old House, Boeun
KOGL Type 4Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

Built in the 1940s, the house comprises an anchae (women's quarters), a sarangchae (men's quarters), a haengnangchae (servants' quarters) and other buildings. Each building stands independently of the others, giving a layout similar to houses of the southern regions. The sarangchae is four bays across the front and one bay deep, with open verandas (toechan) running along both the front and back. The anchae set behind it measures six bays across the front and three bays deep, with a hip-and-gable (paljak) roof shaped like the Chinese character 八 (eight) when viewed from the side.
