This hall enshrines a portrait of Choe Yong-so (posthumous title Jejeonggong), a civil official under King Sejong of Joseon. The portrait is said to have been painted by a court painter at the order of the Ming Emperor Sungjo and sent to Korea. Choe Yong-so was a civil official active from the end of Goryeo into the early Joseon period. In the third year of King Taejo's reign (1394), he was dispatched to Kyushu, Japan, as a goodwill envoy (hoeryesa), delivering a state letter proposing friendly relations between the two countries, and returned home bringing with him more than 570 Koreans who had been held captive there. He was known for his integrity and incorruptibility, the firmness of his principles, and the dignity of his conduct and speech. He once oversaw construction work in Ming China and won renown there for it. His posthumous title was Jejeong.
