Dongnakjeong Pavilion was built in 1437, the 19th year of King Sejong, by Im Mok, who had served as magistrate of Yangyang. It stands with Naseong, amid a vast open plain, at its back, facing the Geumgang River as it flows past in front. The pavilion has a floor plan of three bays across the front and two bays to the side; the central bay of the rear row has windows and doors fitted to form a wooden floor, while the remaining sections are left open. The platform is built of dressed granite stones, with round columns set on octagonal plinths. The roof is a single-eaved hip-and-gable roof.
