Wolsong-ri Three-story Stone Pagoda
월송리삼층석탑 · 月松里三層石塔

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis pagoda stands on a site said to have once held Jomyeonsa Temple. Roof-tile fragments scattered in the vicinity show that it was formerly a temple site, but today only the stone pagoda remains, standing in an alley among private houses. The base of the pagoda is buried in the ground except for its uppermost part, so its original form cannot be fully known. The body of the pagoda consists of a single stone for the first-storey body, while the first-storey roofstone and second-storey body, the second-storey roofstone and third-storey body, and the third-storey roofstone together with the square finial-base stone at the top are each formed from a single stone. Pillar shapes are carved on the body stones. The roofstones, heavy and somewhat dull in appearance, have steeply sloping eaves with almost no upward curve at the four corners, and the underside of each is carved with four tiers of brackets. The pagoda was carved from granite and is presumed to have been erected during the Goryeo period.
