This is a Confucian academy enshrining portraits of Kim Yu-sin and Choe Chi-won, together with the spirit tablets of Hongyuhu, Seol Chong, and Munchang-hu. It was built around 680 and rebuilt in 1919 by local Confucian scholars, who named it Namakseowon after Seoakseowon in Gyeongju. The grounds contain a shrine, two academy buildings used as study halls, and a raised gate. The shrine measures three bays across the front and one bay to the side, with a hip-and-gable roof that, seen from the side, takes the shape of the Chinese character 八 (eight). The academy building measures four bays across the front and two bays to the side, also with a hip-and-gable roof; it has no separate central hall, its veranda instead being extended to serve that function. The two study halls facing each other on either side of the academy building each measure four bays across the front and two bays to the side.
