This building was erected in 1869, the sixth year of Emperor Gojong's reign, to honour and commemorate the filial devotion of the dutiful son Sin Ui-yeon. It measures four bays across the front and four bays deep, and its roof is a hip-and-gable (paljak) roof, shaped like the character 八 when viewed from the side. Unusually, the roof is covered with neowa, wooden shingles cut in the shape of roof tiles. The four pillars supporting the base of the pavilion rest on round plinths carved in the shape of turtles' heads. In the centre of the south interior, a plaque reading 'Yeongbyeongnu' is hung, a name different from Yeongmojeong Pavilion itself.
