Jangchunsa Temple was founded by State Preceptor Muryang in the seventh year of King Heungdeok of Unified Silla (832). The Daeungjeon Hall, however, is a building newly constructed in 1979. It measures three kan across the front and two kan to the side, with a hip-and-gable roof (paljak roof), which resembles the Chinese character 八 (eight) when viewed from the side. Inside, it enshrines a triad of seated Buddha statues, together with a Buddhist painting of Ksitigarbha (Jijang taenghwa) and a painting of guardian deities (Sinjung taenghwa).
