Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krBongseojae served as the jaesil, a hall used by a clan for ancestral rites and gatherings, of the Uiseong Kim clan, and also functioned as a village school, giving it the alternative name Baekun Seodang. It was first built in 1778, the second year of King Jeongjo's reign, and was renovated in 1915. The building has a wooden-floored hall at its centre flanked by ondol-heated rooms on either side. In front of the hall stands a gate that preserves its original appearance, and the surrounding wall was built using traditional techniques.
