Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krUnheungjeong Pavilion was built in 1926 when local scholars (seonbi) organised a poetry society (sisagye) to improve local customs and develop poetry. The pavilion measures three kan across the front and one kan to the side, and is roofed with a paljakjibung, a hipped-and-gabled roof that forms the shape of the Chinese character for "eight" (八) when viewed from the side. Inside the pavilion hang writings recording the start and completion of its construction and the names of those who took part, along with texts offering a glimpse into the activities of the poetry society.
