This stone pagoda and seated stone Buddha statue once stood at a hermitage in Sinnam-ri, Nam-myeon, Inje-gun, and were moved to Baengnyeonjeongsa Hermitage when the Soyanggang Dam was built. The pagoda has a three-storey body set on a two-tier base, though at present only the first two storeys of the body survive. Many parts of the lower tier of the base are missing, so its original form cannot be known precisely; the upper tier has pillar shapes carved on each face. The body is unusual in that the first and second storeys' main stones are of similar height, and the steeply sloping roof stones curve up slightly at the four corners, with three tiers of supports on the underside. A round stone, apparently part of a finial ornament, sits on top. On the whole the pagoda is presumed to have originally had three storeys or more, and it appears to date from the Goryeo period. As for the seated stone Buddha, the part of the statue above the shoulders has been broken off, and the head has since been remade in cement. The figure sits on a lotus-shaped pedestal, but the whole surface is so badly worn that its details can no longer be made out. Judging from the soft curve of the shoulders and the two hands joined at the chest, the statue is presumed to depict the Vairocana Buddha.
