This pavilion, where Yu Chi-myeong (1771–1861), who served as Deputy Minister of War under Joseon, carried out his scholarly studies, was built in the 6th year of King Cheoljong (1855). It originally stood in Saui-dong, Imha-myeon, but was relocated to its present site in 1988 when that area was submerged by the construction of Imha Dam. The building has a front of three kan and a side of two kan, and the roof is a hipped-and-gabled roof (paljak roof), shaped like the Chinese character 八 when viewed from the side. A wooden plaque reading "Manujeong," written by Yi Won-jo, hangs on the building, and there is also a dedicatory record (gimun) composed by Yu Chi-myeong himself.
