This is a stone bridge spanning a stream that flows about 500 metres below Yugasa Temple in Yangdong, Yuga-myeon. Stone bridges built in the rainbow-arch (hongye) form usually give an impression of massive, solid construction, but this bridge instead has a simple, light structural feel. The bridge was originally called Cheokjingyo. According to the Cheokjingyo Monument, it was first built as a rainbow-arched wooden bridge in 1747, the year jeongmyo. However, according to the Mansegyo Monument erected beside it, in 1916, the year byeongjin, a Japanese stonemason named Namok (Kusunoki), working together with local stonemasons, replaced the wooden bridge with a stone one and named it "Mansegyo".
