This is the commemorative plaque of Song Du-won and his grandmother, Lady Yun, held in the Song Ssi Yang Se Memorial Gate to the right of the approach road to Bomunsan Park. It was bestowed with a royal inscription by King Yeongjo in 1745, and the gate was erected under the sponsorship of the local Confucian community. Song Du-won was the grandson of Song Gi-hak, a nephew of Song Si-yeol. He was devoted to his parents, tasting each seasonal dish himself before serving it to them and procuring whatever they desired. When his parents died, he carried out their funerals in strict accordance with ritual propriety, and during the three years of mourning at the graveside he never once removed his mourning clothes. A white swallow is said to have come and nested at the grave, which people took as a sign that his devotion had moved Heaven itself. Lady Yun was born the daughter of Yun Bi-gyeong, who had served as second minister of the Board of Taxation, and married Song Gi-hak, the grandfather of Song Du-won. In 1665, when her maternal grandmother died and her father was keeping watch over the funeral bier, a fire broke out through the carelessness of those present. Lady Yun's mother, Madam Lee, rescued her husband and the body from the flames but was herself burned to death. On learning of this, Lady Yun stopped eating and drinking out of grief, and died at the age of thirty-three.
