This house was built in 1785, the ninth year of King Jeongjo, when Kim Yeong-un, the third son of Gukthan Kim Si-jeong, set up his own household. The house is named Chiheon after Kim Yeong-un's pen name. It originally stood in Jirye-dong, Imdong-myeon, but was submerged by the construction of the Imha Dam and was moved and rebuilt at its present site in 1988. The building has a floor plan shaped like the character 二, measuring four bays across the front and one bay to the side, with a hip-and-gable roof that forms a shape like the character 八 (eight) when viewed from the side. Its layout follows the common form found in the southern region, but it is distinctive in that the kitchen is placed on the right.
