This is a ritual house built to protect the grave of Uncheon Kim Yong and his wife, Lady Yi. Uncheon Kim Yong was a civil official during the reigns of King Seonjo and King Gwanghaegun of Joseon. He passed the state examination in 1590, the 23rd year of King Seonjo, and when the Japanese invasion broke out in 1592, he raised a righteous army in Andong and was appointed commander for the defence of Andong. During the second Japanese invasion of 1597 he served as an aide to Yi Won-ik and played a major role in military affairs, and he also contributed to education by rebuilding the local Confucian school. In 1609 he took part in compiling the Veritable Records of King Seonjo. This building, erected in 1639, the 17th year of King Injo of Joseon, measures four bays across the front and five bays along the side, with a hipped-and-gable roof shaped like the character 八 when viewed from the side. It was originally built in Imdong-myeon, but was relocated to its present site in 1989 due to the construction of the Imha Dam.
