KOGL Type 4Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

This hall enshrines the spirit tablets of King Yang, the tenth king of the Garak Kingdom, and his queen. In the 19th year of King Beopheung of Silla (532), King Yang ceded his kingdom to Silla and lived out his remaining years at Sujeonggung Palace on Wangsan Mountain here, dying five years later. Memorial rites were held afterward but were suspended on account of war; regular rites resumed from 1798. In the second year of Gwangmu (1898) the name was changed to Deogyangjeon, and after being moved to its present site in 1930 it was rebuilt in 1991, remaining so to this day.
