The head has plain, closely cropped hair (sobal, without the spiral curls usually shown on Buddha images), and no usnisha, the cranial protuberance, is depicted; the face is full and fleshy. The lips are thick, and although the eyes are too worn to make out clearly, they appear to form a straight line. Both hands hang down with the palms turned outward; on the left hand the ring and little fingers are bent. The neck is damaged, but the samdo, the three creases traditionally carved on a Buddha's neck, can still be identified, and there is no particular decoration on the back.
