Nine tiers of roof stones carved from slate are stacked above a granite body stone 35 centimetres high. The plan is square; the underside of the roof stones of the first and second storeys is decorated with a lotus-petal design, while the storeys above have angular, stepped eave supports carved into them. There is no other example of this type in the Chungju region, and only a handful of such cheongseoktap — pagodas built of bluish-grey slate — are known nationwide; though small in scale, it has the refined beauty of a piece of fine craftsmanship.
