Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krThis is a shrine enshrining three loyal subjects of the Miryang Park clan — Park Chun-seong, Park Heung-nam and Park Yeon-su — and is also known as Samchungsa, the Shrine of the Three Loyal Subjects. Yangchon Park Chun-seong was a civil official of the mid-Joseon period; when the Japanese invasions broke out in 1592, the 25th year of King Seonjo, he took charge of guarding the king and on several occasions proposed military strategies to him. For this merit he was ranked third class among the Hoseong Wonjong Merit Subjects in 1604 and was also granted the title Milsan-gun. Guam Park Heung-nam was a righteous-army volunteer of the mid-Joseon period who passed the military examination at a young age. When the Japanese invasions broke out in 1592, he and his younger brother won great merit fighting at Ichi and Ungchi in Geumsan. He fought hard in the Battle of Jinju, but when the fortress fell he died in battle together with Kim Cheon-il, Choe Gyeong-hoe and others. This shrine, built in 1856, the seventh year of King Cheoljong, is a simple, unadorned building measuring three bays across the front and one bay to the side.
