This is the main gate of Nogeuidang, the building where the local magistrate dispatched to the Neungju region conducted official business during the Joseon dynasty. Records showing that the gate was repaired in 1599, the thirty-second year of King Seonjo, suggest that it was built together with Nogeuidang when Jeong Yun took up his post as magistrate of Neungju. The gate is three bays wide and two bays deep, with a hipped-and-gabled roof shaped like the Chinese character for "eight" when viewed from the side. The bracket sets that decoratively support the roof eaves are simply constructed. A wooden signboard inscribed by the noted literary figure Jeong I (1568–1625) hangs on the building. Juksujeoljeamun is a simple yet handsome building of a structure rarely seen elsewhere in Jeollanam-do.
