This is the stone that stands before the grave of Yang Hwon, known by his pen name Eochon. During the Byeongja War, on hearing that King Injo was besieged at Namhansanseong Fortress by the invading Qing army, Yang Hwon raised a volunteer militia in the Uiryeong area and set out to fight, but on reaching Jungnyeong he heard that peace had already been made with the Qing forces, and turned back. The stone consists of an upright body set on a square base and topped with a capstone of unusual decoration. The inscription was written in Heo Jeok's own hand, and judging from the period in which he lived, the stone is thought to have been erected in the mid-Joseon period.
