It is said that the great-great-grandfather of the current owner built this house 150 years ago, and a descendant of the third generation now lives there. The house has an L-shaped plan, measuring four kan across the front and two kan to the side, with a hipped-and-gabled (paljak) roof that forms the shape of the character 八 (eight) when viewed from the side. The front two kan form a wooden-floored hall (maru), with a sarangbang (men's quarters) and a small side room (golbang) to one side. In front of the kitchen, making use of the terrain, there is a cattle shed built one level lower than the main house. In the main house, a daecheong (open wooden-floored hall) occupies the centre of the front, flanked by the kitchen and the sarangbang, while behind the maru are the anbang (main bedroom) and a storeroom; a shed and a storehouse were placed as a separate outbuilding at the rear. The exact date of construction is not known in detail, but the house originally stood in Guseong-ri and was moved to its present site 75 years ago.
