This is the house of the seventeenth-generation descendant of the Gimhae Kim clan living in it today; it was built by the fourteenth-generation grandfather of the present owner and has continued in the family to the present day. It was originally thatched, and the roof is said to have been changed to tile sixty years ago. The house is divided into an inner quarters (anchae) and an outer men's quarters (sarangchae); the anchae is a northern-style house of a kind that survives in the Yangyang region. A large kitchen is set on the left, while the right side is divided down the middle and further partitioned into six small rooms. The cattle shed, built projecting out in front of the kitchen, has been converted into a storeroom. The sarangchae appears to have been added later. Unlike the anchae, it has three large rooms, with a wooden veranda (toenmaru) running along the outside connecting the rooms to one another. The main gate is a typical sotdaemun, a gate raised higher than its flanking walls, with a stable and a storeroom to its left. To the right of the entrance path is a square pond planted with lotus, which, together with the roofline in front of the sarangchae, gives the house its beauty.
