This stele was written in 1747, the twenty-third year of King Yeongjo, by Yi Jae, and is now protected within a stele pavilion. Goamseowon was established after Song Si-yeol, who had been made to drink poison while in Jeongeup, was cleared of the false charges against him; the academy received a royal charter and an official name plaque in 1695, the twenty-first year of King Sukjong. It was demolished in 1871, the eighth year of Emperor Gojong, and this stele was erected on the academy's former site. It stands 195 cm high, 78 cm wide and 19 cm thick.
