This is where Jo Gwang-ui (1543–1608), who served as Panggyeolsa (chief judge) of the Jangnyewon, the office that adjudicated disputes over slaves, carried out his scholarly studies. The building measures three kan (bays) across the front and two kan along the side, with a hip-and-gable roof that forms the shape of the Chinese character for 'eight' (八) when viewed from the side. The interior structure is very finely detailed, and the building illustrates mid-Joseon architectural style.
