This was built in 1603, the thirty-sixth year of King Seonjo of Joseon, by U Bok-yong when he took up the post of magistrate of Naju-mok, and it served as the gate of the Naju government office. It is a two-storey pavilion measuring three bays across the front and two bays along the side; both sides of the ground floor are walled, while the rest is left open. The roof is a hipped-and-gabled roof that, seen from the side, forms the shape of the character 八 (eight). On the second floor, a drum once hung to announce the time has been restored and hung there again.
