This is a jeongnyeomun (a gate commemorating exemplary conduct) erected at the entrance to the village to honour two loyal subjects, two filial sons and four virtuous women across three generations of the Naju Na clan, beginning with Na Sa-chim (1526–1596). When Na Sa-chim was sixteen, his mother fell gravely ill; he cut off his own finger and fed her his blood, helping her through the crisis and curing her illness. His grandson Na Deuk-so (1607–1640) was filial from childhood, and when his father Deok-hyeon died he observed the three-year mourning rite; for this he, together with his grandfather, was commended as a filial son. Na Sa-chim's eldest son, Na Deok-myeong (1551–1610), and his sixth son, Na Deuk-so (1607–unknown), were implicated in the Gichuk Oksa (the 1589 literati purge) and exiled to the Jongseong region. When the Imjin War broke out in 1592, the 25th year of King Seonjo, they raised righteous armies and achieved great merit, and were commended as loyal subjects. The wife of Deok-hyeon, Na Sa-chim's fourth son, and her daughter, the wife of Yun Gang, were pursued by the enemy during the Jeongyu War and threw themselves into the river to preserve their chastity. During the Jeongmyo Horan (the 1627 Manchu invasion), the wife of Na Su-so — Na Sa-chim's grandson — of the Eonyang Kim clan, who had taken refuge at Anju Fortress, her husband's ancestral home, burned herself to death when the fortress fell; she and her granddaughter, the wife of Kim Jip, were commended as virtuous women. The gate was moved slightly back from its original site in 1947 owing to road construction, and was rebuilt in 1974, in which form it survives today. The building measures three bays across the front and one bay deep, and is roofed with a matbae (gable) roof whose roofline forms the shape of the character 人 (person) when viewed from the side.
