Goransa Temple
고란사 · 皐蘭寺

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krLocated on the left bank of the Baengmagang River at the northern foot of Busosan Mountain, Goransa Temple is a small temple comprising a main hall seven kan across the front and four kan deep, together with monks' quarters. The temple is known less for Buddhist relics than for its goranch'o, a type of fern, which, together with the spring water flowing out from behind the main hall, has become the temple's noted feature. Various legends concerning the fall of Baekje are associated with Goransa Temple, but no precise historic remains or artefacts from that time survive. The present temple is said to have been founded in the Goryeo period, and its current buildings are said to have been relocated from Seunggaksa Temple in Eunsan.
