Gwangamjeong Pavilion, Hapcheon
합천 광암정 · 廣巖亭

Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krGwangamjeong Pavilion was built in 1884, the 21st year of Emperor Gojong, by Gwon Jeong-gi for his father Gwon Byeong-deok (pen name Gwangam), who had served as a councillor of the Jungchuwon, the Privy Council. It was named Gwangam after his father's pen name. The pavilion originally stood on a natural rock outcrop by the Hwanggang River at Chang-ri, about one kilometre from its present site, but was relocated to its current location in 1985 to escape submersion caused by the construction of the Hapcheon Dam. The building is a pavilion-style structure measuring four bays across the front and three bays deep, with a room two bays wide and one bay deep at the centre of the floor.
