Sipsauisarokpanmok is a set of woodblocks carved to record how fourteen members of the Miryang Park clan rose as a righteous army (uibyeong, a civilian volunteer militia) and fought the Japanese during the Imjin War. The set comprises 206 blocks, each carved with 20 lines of 18 characters. The compilation drew on the Chunghyorok, published in 1794 or 1797, the 18th or 21st year of King Jeongjo, and on the Baksichunghyorok written by a later descendant, Park Jeong-sang. However, since neither source was compiled at the time of the Imjin War itself but rather more than two hundred years afterwards, their value as primary source material has certain limitations. Even so, they describe specific details of local battles and of how the war was overcome during the Imjin War that are not found in existing historical records, giving them considerable historical significance.
