This is the tomb of Kim Geo-ik, a civil official of the late Goryeo period. Filial to his parents from an early age and of an upright character, he was widely praised by those around him. He was close friends with King Taejo, but when the Goryeo dynasty fell he withdrew to Buyeo, in present-day South Chungcheong Province, and lived in seclusion. After the founding of Joseon, King Taejo summoned him to serve as Minister of the Right, but he never took up the post, living out his days in fidelity to the fallen dynasty until his death. A stone monument stands to the right in front of the burial mound, recording that he was also close to the scholar Yi Saek, a leading figure of his day. Below the tomb stands a sindobi, a memorial stele erected to commemorate the lifetime achievements of a king or high official; this one was composed by Kim Bok-han and written in calligraphy by Yun Yong-gu in 1922.
