The exact date this house was built is unknown, but it is said that the same family has lived in it for thirteen generations. It has been rebuilt several times, and the present building was rebuilt 105 years ago. The house complex consists of an anchae (main women's quarters), a sarangchae (men's quarters) and one auxiliary building. The anchae measures six bays across the front and four bays on the side, with a gable (matbae) roof that forms the shape of the character 人 when viewed from the side. It has an L-shaped floor plan, with two bays of an ansarang room placed to the left of the central daecheong (wooden-floored hall), one bay of which contains a firebox (agungi). The two bays in front of the main room served as the kitchen, which has now been renovated into a Western-style standing kitchen. The outer sarangchae has three rooms to the left of the main gate and a stable to the right. The house is of great conservation value as a fine example of a traditional folk house of the Pyeongchang region.
