The pavilion was first built in the Joseon period by Kim Yeong-ho, who held the post of sain (a court official), and Park Su-gi, who served as gamsa (provincial governor), among others; in 1924 descendants of both families repaired the deteriorated building and rebuilt it. The building measures two kan across the front and two kan along the side. The pavilion harmonises with its beautiful surroundings — the clear waters of the Pungcheon stream and rock walls rising like an island — and is considered one of the finest views in the region.
