Chuncheon Han Baek-rok Burial Ground and Jeongmun Gate
KOGL Type 4Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.kr

This is the burial ground and commemorative gate (jeongmun) of Han Baek-rok (1555–1592), posthumously titled Chungjanggong. Han Baek-rok distinguished himself in the naval battles of Okpo and Hapo during the Japanese invasions of Korea, but was killed in action at the Battle of Mijohang. A commemorative gate honouring him was granted in 1751, the twenty-first year of King Yeongjo. The grave follows the typical form of a Joseon-period tomb. In front of it stand a recently erected stele, an offering table, and mangjuseok (paired guardian pillars), and to its left stands a mugal, a stele recording the deceased's life, erected in 1657, the eighth year of King Hyojong; it had broken in two and has since been rejoined. A sindobi, a memorial stele set up along the approach to the tomb, stands near the entrance to the grave. The jeongmun, together with a shrine, stands about 1.5 km west of the burial ground.
