Korea Heritage Service · khs.go.krBosanjeongsa, standing at the entrance to the village, is the place where eight scholars born in this village pursued their studies and devoted themselves to training the next generation, from the reign of King Jungjong of Joseon (r. 1506–1544) to that of King Seonjo (r. 1567–1608). It measures five kan across the front and two kan along the side, with a hip-and-gable paljak roof that forms the shape of the character for "eight" (八) when viewed from the side. Bosansa, to the north of Bosanjeongsa, is a shrine dedicated to the eight civil officials. It measures three kan across the front and one kan along the side, with a gable matbae roof that forms the shape of the character for "person" (人) when viewed from the side. It is said to have been built in 1789, the twenty-second year of King Jeongjo, though the building now standing was rebuilt in the 1900s. Bosanjeongsa is a large and old pavilion building in the form of a lecture hall, an example that is rare of its kind.
